Pita Pockets in Microwave

Program: Top & bottom heater with fan
Pre heat temp: 220⁰C
Pre heat time: 10 mins          
Cook temp: 220⁰C
Cook time: 2 mins


Ingredients:


For Pita Bread:

  • 125 gms all purpose flour
  • 5 gms yeast
  • 5 gms salt
  • 5 gms sugar
  • 5 gms butter
  • 80 ml luke warm water


Filling:

  • 2 onion sliced
  • 2 tomatoes sliced
  • 2 cucumber sliced
  • 2 beetroot sliced
  • 2 chicken kebab
  • 50 gms tahini paste
  • 10 gms hummus
  • 2 bunch romaine lettuce
  • 100 gms butter


Preparation:

  1. Select the program and pre heat the oven with the baking tray
  2. In a clean bowl mix all ingredients for Pita bread and knead well
  3. Leave the dough for resting and let it rise for 35 mins. Post resting knead the dough again
  4. Pluck out tiny 15 gms portions from the dough, roll out with mild dusting into an elongated oval shape roti. Prepare 4 such rolled pitas
  5. Remove hot tray from the oven carefully, place the pitas on the tray, place the tray on 3rd rack position and bake for 2 mins at 220⁰C
  6. Remove the puffed pita breads and let them cool

 

For Assembling:

  1. Cut the pita bread into 2 and open the center to make a pocket
  2. Apply butter and place the lettuce
  3. Now place all sliced veggies and chicken kebabs. Pipe the hummus and tahini & serve.
