The ultimate ‘ghar-ka-khana’, Dal Khichdi, is the king of comfort foods. Ingredients

  • ½ Cup Rice            
  • ½ Cup Moong Dal
  • 1 tsp Ghee
  • ½ tsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • ½ tspMustard Seeds (Rai)
  • 1 tsp Ginger
  • 1 Tomato
  • ½ Cup Green Peas
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • Asafoetida (Hing)

Method

  • Heat the ghee for 30 seconds, add ginger, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and tomato, and cook it for 2 minutes. Cook the dal and the rice on 100% micropower for 20-25 minutes.
  • Mix them together and add the green peas.
  • Add water and cook it further for 4-5 minutes till it becomes a smooth and watery texture.
    Serve hot
