Ingredients

  • 4 medium potatoes
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3-4 tbsp heavy cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp sour cream
  • 1 tbsp cream cheese

Method

  • Take the potatoes and gently poke holes using a fork.
  • Place them on a microwave-safe plate and cook at 100% micro power level for about 8 minutes.
  • Once cooled, peel and mash together in a bowl.
  • Add butter, mix well and pass the mash through a sieve.
  • Stir in warm milk or cream gradually until you reach your desired texture. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Finally, add the garlic powder, sour cream and cream cheese.
  • For extra smoothness, you can microwave the mash for another 30 seconds and give it a final stir.
