Ingredients

  • Sweet potatoes: 2 large or 4 small
  • Water: 1 cup
  • Salt: to taste
  • Butter: optional, for serving
  • Cinnamon: optional, for serving

Method

  • Wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt or debris. Peel the sweet potatoes if desired, or you can leave the skins on for added texture and nutrients.
  • Place a steam rack on glass tray inside the oven on low rack position.
  • Cut the sweet potatoes into evenly-sized chunks or thick slices to ensure even cooking.
  • Select Steam function with S1 mode and pre heat for 2 mins.
  • Arrange the sweet potato pieces in a single layer in the steamer tray.
  • Steam the sweet potatoes for about 8 minutes, or until they are tender and easily pierced with a fork using steam + micro mode.
  • Once steamed, carefully transfer the sweet potatoes to a serving dish.
  • Season with salt to taste.
  • Serve hot, optionally with a pat of butter and a sprinkle of cinnamon for added flavour.
